Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, has achieved another significant academic milestone with the successful re-accreditation of 25 undergraduate programmes presented to the National Universities Commission (NUC) during the October/November 2024 accreditation exercise.
According to an official statement from the NUC, dated April 30, 2025, and addressed to KWASU’s Vice-Chancellor, Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, the commission granted full accreditation to 21 programmes and interim accreditation to 4 programmes. The letter was signed by Engineer Abraham Chundusu, Acting Director of Accreditation at the NUC.
Programmes with Full Accreditation (Valid for 5 Years).
KWASU received full accreditation status for the following programmes:
Science and Technology: Taxation, Agriculture, Aquaculture and Fisheries Management, Food Engineering, Biochemistry, Environmental Management and Toxicology, and Physics.
Education and Humanities: Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution, Special Education, French Education, Education Christian Religious Studies, Islamic Studies Education, Arabic Education, and Computer Science Education.
Education Disciplines: Business Education, Early Childhood Education, Educational Management, Agriculture Education, Biology Education, Physics Education, and Chemistry Education.
Programmes with Interim Accreditation (Valid for 2 Years).
Four programmes were granted interim accreditation and will be reviewed again in two years:
French
Mathematics Education
English Education
Yoruba Education
