The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) mop-up exercise will hold on Saturday, 28th June 2025.

According to a statement by JAMB’s Public Communications Adviser, Dr Fabian Benjamin, a total of 96,838 candidates will sit for the mop-up examination. These include 5,096 spill-over candidates, those who encountered biometric verification issues during the main UTME, and 91,742 candidates who were absent from the main and rescheduled exams.

Notification Slip Printing Starts Monday June 23

To ensure proper preparation, candidates are advised to start printing their examination notification slips from Monday, 23rd June 2025. The slip will contain essential details such as the exam centre, date, and time.

Examination Centres and Logistics

The mop-up examination will be conducted in 183 accredited Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres across Nigeria. JAMB has also prepared a few standby slots for special cases.

However, JAMB has delisted 113 CBT centres found guilty of various infractions including technical failures and examination malpractice. These centres are currently under investigation and may face prosecution.

JAMB Warns Against Malpractice

Ongoing investigations by JAMB have uncovered examination malpractice networks involving school proprietors, tutorial centres, and a few JAMB officials. Some undergraduate students have also been linked to impersonation cases.

In collaboration with the State Security Service, the Nigeria Police Force, and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, JAMB is taking strong action against identity theft and exam fraud. Some examination towns have been deactivated, and affected candidates will be reassigned to nearby centres.

Institutions to Be Notified of Impersonators

The Board has warned that any student caught impersonating another candidate may face expulsion from their institution, in addition to prosecution under the Examination Malpractice Act of 1999. JAMB will notify the institutions of such offenders.
