ABU Releases Update on 2025/2026 Admission Exercise – Important Notice to Candidates
Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria has released an important update regarding the ongoing 2025/2026 undergraduate admission exercise. According to the university’s Special Bulletin issued by the Public Affairs Directorate, candidates are advised to take urgent action to secure their admission before the deadline.
Key Admission Instructions from ABU Management
1. Accept Admission on JAMB CAPS
All candidates who have been offered admission must immediately log in to their JAMB CAPS to accept their admission and print their admission letter.
2. Upload O’Level Results
Some candidates recommended by their departments have not uploaded their O’Level (WAEC/NECO) results on JAMB CAPS.
These candidates are required to visit any JAMB-accredited CBT centre urgently to upload their results to avoid losing their admission.
3. Oversubscribed Programmes
Due to limited quota, some programmes are already oversubscribed. Candidates who applied for these programmes may change to other courses with available spaces before the deadline.
Oversubscribed Programmes Include:
- MBBS (Medicine)
- Nursing Science
- Pharmacy
- Medical Laboratory Science
- Computer Engineering
- Civil Law
- Mass Communication
- Shariah/Islamic Law
- Radiography
- Dentistry
4. New Available Programmes ABU has released a list of alternative programmes with available slots. Candidates are encouraged to change to these programmes depending on their O’Level and UTME subject combinations.
5. Admission Deadline
The 2025 admission exercise will close on 31st October 2025 in line with the JAMB policy.
Candidates must complete all required actions before Friday, 24th October 2025, to avoid forfeiting their admission.
