Covenant University has officially released its Postgraduate Admission Form for the 2025/2026 academic session. Suitably qualified candidates are invited to apply for admission into various postgraduate programmes leading to the award of Master’s and Ph.D. degrees across multiple disciplines.
Covenant University Postgraduate Admission Requirements 2025/2026
General Requirements (All Programmes)
All interested applicants must complete the online application form via the Covenant University postgraduate admission portal. Required documents include:
- Degree/HND certificates and diplomas
- Academic transcripts (to be sent directly to the Dean, School of Postgraduate Studies)
- Three reference letters
- A 500-word statement of intent outlining your proposed research area
- NYSC discharge, exemption, or exclusion certificate (for Nigerian applicants)
- Note: Only candidates whose academic transcripts have been received by the school will be considered for admission.
Master’s Degree Programmes Requirements
To qualify for admission into a Master’s degree programme, candidates must:
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree from Covenant University or any other institution approved by the Covenant University Senate
- Have a minimum of Second Class Lower Division in a relevant discipline
- Candidates with Third Class degrees or HND (Upper Credit) must also possess a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) with a minimum CGPA of 3.50/5.00 in a related discipline
Duration: Minimum of two academic sessions (full-time).
Ph.D Degree Programmes Requirements
Admission into the Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) programme requires:
- A Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in a relevant discipline
- A minimum CGPA of 4.00/5.00 (60%) for direct Ph.D. entry
- Candidates with CGPA of 3.50–3.99 (55–59%) may be considered for the M.Phil/Ph.D. programme
Candidates who do not meet the required CGPA during coursework will be awarded an M.Phil degree after successful project defence.
Duration: Minimum of three academic sessions (full-time).
Note: Professional Master’s degree holders are not eligible for Ph.D. unless they also possess an M.Sc in a relevant field.
Covenant Business School (CBS) – MBA Programme
Covenant University’s CBS offers a robust Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme with specializations in:

Entry Requirements for MBA:
- Bachelor’s degree with at least Second Class Lower

Duration: Two academic sessions (Full-time)
Note: All postgraduate programmes are full-time, except M.Sc/ACIB, which operates part-time.
