UNIBEN Introduces New Degree Programmes for 2025/2026 Academic Session
The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has announced the introduction of 16 new undergraduate and professional degree programmes beginning from the 2025/2026 academic session. This development follows the successful resource verification by the National Universities Commission (NUC), which officially approved the programmes.
According to a statement signed by Professor Joseph Osemwenkhae, Director of Academic Planning, the newly approved courses cut across technology, media, agriculture, health, and social sciences—expanding academic opportunities for prospective students.

From the 2025/2026 session, UNIBEN will begin admission into the following programmes:
- B.Sc. Data Science
- Doctor of Physiotherapy (DPT)
- B.Sc. Broadcasting
- B.Sc. Advertising
- B.Sc. Peace and Conflict Resolution
- B.Sc. Film and Multimedia Studies
- B.Sc. Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
- B.Sc. Software Engineering
- B.Sc. Information Technology
- B.Sc. Public Relations
- B.Sc. Cyber Security
- B.Sc. Development Studies
- B.Sc. Public Health
- B.Agric (Agricultural Economics)
- B.Agric (Agric Extension and Rural Development)
