University of Abuja Postgraduate Admission 2025/2026: MSc & PGD Programmes in Health Sciences Now Open

The University of Abuja (now Yakubu Gowon University, Abuja) has announced the commencement of applications for admission into its School of Postgraduate Studies – College of Health Sciences for the 2025/2026 academic session.

Qualified candidates are invited to apply for postgraduate programmes offered by the Institute of Reproductive Health (IRH) in collaboration with the Institute of Medical Sciences Africa (IMSA).

This opportunity is open to candidates interested in specialized training in reproductive physiology, embryology, and assisted reproductive technologies.

Available Postgraduate Programmes

Applicants can apply for the following programmes:
1. Master of Science (MSc) in Reproductive Physiology and Assisted Reproductive Technology (Human Medicine)
2. Master of Science (MSc) in Clinical Embryology (Human Medicine)
3. Postgraduate Diploma in Andrology (Human Medicine)
4. Postgraduate Diploma in Cryopreservation of Gametes and Embryos (Human Medicine)
5. Postgraduate Diploma in Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection (ICSI) (Human Medicine)

These programmes are designed to train professionals in advanced reproductive science and fertility technologies.

Admission Requirements

To be eligible for admission, candidates must meet the following requirements:

1. O’Level Requirements

Applicants must possess five (5) credit passes in the following subjects:
• English Language
• Mathematics
• Physics
• Chemistry
• Biology

These credits must be obtained in not more than two sittings in WAEC, NECO, or GCE.

2. Academic Qualification

Candidates must hold an MBBS degree with at least four (4) years of post-qualification experience.

Eligible applicants may include graduates from:
• Nigerian medical schools
• Foreign medical schools recognized by the Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN)
• Holders of MBBS or equivalent qualifications

3. Professional Experience

Preference will be given to candidates currently working in:
• Federal Medical Centres
• Teaching Hospitals
• Obstetrics and Gynaecology Units
• Fertility clinics
• Equivalent healthcare institutions

4. Additional Eligibility

Holders of BSc degrees in Natural Sciences, Laboratory Sciences, and BMLS are also eligible to apply for all programmes offered by the Institute of Reproductive Health (IRH) at the University of Abuja.

Applicants are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of ₦50,000.
