Final Year Students of the Faculty of Arts Students’ Association (FASA), University of Lagos, are gearing up for what is shaping to be one of the most ambitious Final Year Week (FYW) experiences in recent years. The FASA UNILAG FYB 2026 has been officially unveiled as FASA FYB ’26: Emerald Era, Worth the Wait, Journey of Becoming, proposed to hold by mid-July 2026.
In an exclusive conversation with Campusflash, the Vice Chairman of the FASA FYB ’26 Committee, Adetayo Adeleke (T9), shared insights into the vision, structure, and opportunities embedded within the week-long celebration, while calling on finalists, brands, and collaborators to be part of the experience.
“This Is More Than Just Celebration. It’s a Statement”
According to the Vice Chairman, FASA FYB 2026 is intentionally designed to go beyond the traditional end-of-year festivities.
“We’re not just organizing the usual events; we’re curating experiences that reflect growth, identity, and the journey of becoming. The Emerald Era represents value, refinement, and resilience. Everything the FASA Class of ’26 stands for.”

A Breakdown of the Week: Where Experience Meets Strategy
Day 1: Corporate Day (Monday)
The week opens on a professional and intellectually engaging note.
“Corporate Day is where we bridge the gap between school and the real world,” the Vice Chairman explained.
Themed “Where Do We Go From Here: The Architect’s Guide to Professional Transitions”, and featuring TED-style talks, guest speakers, and smart networking sessions, this day is tailored to attract corporate organizations, career platforms, and personal brands and industry professionals.
“This is also a strong opportunity for brands to position themselves directly in front of emerging graduates.”
Day 2: Denim Day + Silent Disco (Tuesday)
A shift into a relaxed, expressive, and youth-driven atmosphere. With denim-themed fashion, games, and a multi-channel silent disco experience, this day focuses on lifestyle brands, fashion collaborations, and entertainment partnerships.
“We’re creating a vibe-heavy environment that allows for organic engagement, content creation, and brand visibility.”

Day 3: Jersey Day + ÀGBÀÀYÀ Experience (Wednesday)
A vibrant mix of sports culture and playful nostalgia, this day is designed to help finalists reconnect with their inner child. Activities will include sporting jerseys, field games and recreational activities, aqua vibes, bouncing castles, and inter-competitions.
“The Àgbàyà Experience is intentionally designed as a carefree, retro-inspired day,” the Vice Chairman explained. “It’s about letting loose, playing like kids again, and creating moments of pure joy before stepping fully into adulthood.”
With its high-energy and visually engaging setup, this day offers strong opportunities for beverage and snack brands, lifestyle and recreational brands, and youth-focused campaigns.
“It’s fun, it’s chaotic in the best way, and it’s deeply memorable. Exactly the kind of experience you want to be part of and share.”
Day 4: Costume Day (Thursday)
Arguably one of the most fun and visually engaging days of the week. Students get to creatively dress as icons, characters, and fantasies using creative concepts, alongside online contests, runway vibes, music and performances, and media coverage.
“This is content gold. Brands in fashion, entertainment, media, and digital spaces can leverage this day massively too.”
Day 5: Departmental Free Day (Friday)
A decentralised experience where departments are given autonomy to host niche activities, strengthen internal bonding, and showcase uniqueness.
“It allows micro-communities within FASA to shine.”
Day 6: Ówàńbẹ̀, Grand Finale (Saturday)
The week peaks with a fully immersive, elite wedding-themed Ówàḿbè experience designed to feel as real as possible. Unlike the usual fake wedding, this is a complete ceremonial experience where the couples may not even be real lovers, or maybe they are, but the sense of family and unity is.
The theme, “The Union of Languages and Thoughts: The Wedding Party,” brings a symbolic twist. The bride’s side represents Linguistics, African and Asian Studies, English, and European Languages, while the groom’s side represents Philosophy, History, and Religious Studies.
“It’s another creative way to strengthen the bond across all six departments,” the Vice Chairman shared.
And just when it feels like it’s over, the committee has one more surprise. “We wrap it up with the ultimate AFTER-PARTY. Ultimate Fàájá and Obleee style.” A grand, cultural, and energetic send-off to close the Emerald Era.
Call for Participation: Get FASActive!
The committee is actively encouraging final-year students across all departments to fully immerse themselves in the FASA UNILAG FYB 2026 experience.
“You only get one final year in the University of Lagos, unless you want to wait till your postgraduate’s. This is designed to make it unforgettable. You don’t want to miss it.”

Call for Volunteers, Creatives, and Collaborators
The FASA FYB ’26 Planning Committee is also opening its doors to bloggers, PR professionals and influencers, photographers and videographers, content creators, welfare coordinators, event decorators, and logistics teams.

“We’re building a team that is as dynamic as the vision itself. This is an opportunity to be part of something impactful.”
Sponsorship and Collaboration Opportunities
With a class of 1,000+ finalists and an estimated attendance of over 500 students, FASA FYB 2026 presents a valuable platform for brand visibility, direct engagement with students, marketing, and strategic campus positioning.
